Network Architecture
ABOUT THE SHORT LEARNING PROGRAMMES
The need for network maintenance and support is rapidly increasing. A company’s information system requires vast amounts of technical equipment and hardware to support and maintain the steady flow of information.
This short learning programme will enable students to build, identify and troubleshoot networks and a network operating system. Students will develop the skills to understand the designing, implementation, configuration, troubleshooting and administration of networks. Students will also understand fault tolerance and disaster recovery as well as network security within a Microsoft® Windows environment.
The course is practically oriented, focusing on network technology, network operation systems administration and network management. It enables students to set up, administer and manage a network with the appropriate operating system for any particular environment, ranging from corporate to medium client to small concerns.
WHO SHOULD ENROL FOR THE PROGRAMME
- Those who wish to further their knowledge of various operating systems, as well as those who wish to study towards a Network specific qualification e.g MCSE
- Network administrators wanting to expand their knowledge to include other operation systems.
CERTIFICATION
The Network Architecture Certificate is a short learning progarmme (SLP) that is certified by The Independent Institute.
Students enrolled in this short learning programme can apply, on successful completion, to be awarded credit for the equivalent full qualification module when registering for a full qualification with The Independent Institute of Education..
SHORT LEARNING PROGRAMMES

PROGRAMME MATERIAL
The programme fee includes all programme material which becomes the property of the student. This material constitutes a valuable source of on-going reference.
PROGRAMME EVALUATION
The programme assessment includes a group assignment, test and formal written examination at the end of the programme. Should a student fail to achieve the required mark, he/she may repeat the programme at no additional charge within 18 months of first registration (subject to certain conditions).
